The city of Tulcea is considered to be the "gateway of the delta",
being an industrial city and a fluvial port. The touring attractions of the
city are represented by: The Danube Delta Museum (with four sections: natural
science, art, ethnography, archeology – history), Saint Nicolas Cathedral
(built in 1865), Pasalelor Palace (1870), the Old Town Hall (1870-1872),
Azzizzie Church restored in 1924 along the lines of the one built by Ismail
Pasa, in 1877 etc.

Sulina is the second city of
the delta, an important maritime and fluvial port, situated at the river mouth
of the arm with the same name. In the year 950 it was a Byzantine port, named
Sulina, in 1318, Genovese port, and later it became a naval base for the
Ottoman Empire. At the beginning of the past century it became a free port,
Porto Franco. What is of great interest to tourists is the old lighthouse –
18,5 m (built in 1802), the new lighthouse, the Fluvial Management Palace (IX
century), the cathedral with double dedication day “Saint Nicolas and Saint
Alexander” to name but a few.

beauty of Romania, the Country boasts on its food, fish in particular.

to the Danube Delta and we are certain you will go home with wonderful memories
and a strong desire to return soon. Everything here is designed around a great

  • Relaxation-Accommodation says:

Grindul Lupilor Pension has been opened during summer 2008 and has an excellent positioning, being the entrance gate towards the sand bank with the same name. If you are willing for a trip into bank`s thicket or fishing into the waters of neighboring channels and lakes. Great place for watching the birds and vegetation of this are which is pretty unknown to people. http://www.grindul-lupilor.ro/cazare.php?limba=Engleza
