NEPTUN AND OLIMP –
COMFORT AND FUN
Situated in the
south of Constanta, these two
resorts have a beautiful aspect. Here, the Promenade complements the fine Beach
whilst the silence of the Birch Forest
complements the still waters of the lakes.
Thee beach at Neptun is one of the most beautiful beaches on the
seaside, with fine sand and a smooth ramp where sand meets sea. The beach at
Olimp is smaller but expands around the
bay because of the dykes.
The two resorts
have modern accommodation with plenty of facilities for your added enjoyment.
These include sports grounds, open air swimming pools, a summer theatre,
cinemas, water sports and amusement parks for children. Most of the hotels are opened in the summer
season, but there some exceptions. Some are also open during the winter months.
Olimp is dominated by modern architecture and the hotels share their names with
some of the historic Romanian provinces (Banat, Oltenia,
Maramures, Transilvania, Muntenia, Dobrogea). In Neptun, you will find Sat de
Vacanta, with houses and bungalows, as well as two touring stopovers.
The thermal
waters at the resorts contain sulphurous minerals and often enjoy temperatures
as high as 22-27 degrees Celsius. The sapropelic mud extracted from the lakes
means that this is not just a tourist resort but a curative one too. These
natural resources are used in the specialized treatments on offer and these can
be enjoyed in the many hotels that boast modern facilities.
COSTINESTI – A YOUTH
RESORT
Situated at 28
km south from the municipality of Constanta,
Costinesti is a place better suited to younger visitors or, perhaps, the young
at heart. The resort really comes alive after 10
pm when the its’ center turns in to a hot bed of activity where
late night revelers flock to the nite clubs and restaurants. Indeed, the most
daring can even visit the old shipwreck situated at sea. The beach has very
fine sand and is perfect for heliotherapy and thallalasotherapy treatments.
The resort has a
touring centre for the young which is built in a modern style that operates as
a student’s camp during the summer. In fact, it’s design enables it to also
operate as a mini-hotel, a villa, a guest house and camping site.
During the
summer, a series of cultural events takes place that attracts tourists from all
over the seaside: The Festival of Young Actors, the National Jazz Festival, the
Festivities of the Sea and The National MediaFest Festival.
