They say small towns are boring. That they cannot provide enough amount of “entertainment” so as to keep you there for a long time. But in the case of cities like Piatra-Neamt, it is sure that a visit will keep a part of your heart there forever.
Piatra Neamt – the Pearl of Moldova
Located in the north-eastern part of Romania in the region of Moldova, Piatra-Neamt is one of the most ancient settlements in this area. Its architecture and relief earned the city the nick-name of “the Pearl of Moldova”. It is situated on the valley of the Bistrita River and is surrounded by mountains. The Pietricica, Cozla, Cernegura, Carloman and Batca Doamnei cliffs guard the city, making sure every day that the place remains an intact oasis of peace.
It is this privileged position that protects the town from extreme temperatures. The summers are short and breezy, while the winters are very gentle on the local inhabitants. Hence, you will not be deprived of any memorable experiences no matter if you visit the region during the cold or the warm season.
