Vama Veche versus Mamaia

Mamaia – A Place to Pamper Yourself

Those of you who are just not into the whole “free spirit” thing have the perfect alternative for their taste. While Vama Veche is more of a natural escape, Mamaia is a Romanian seaside resort that is exactly the opposite, a luxury destination. These 2 places prove once again that opposites attract… tourists.

Mamaia is located in the vicinity of the city of Constanta, in the North-Eastern side. It has a beach that spreads over 8 kilometers and holds the advantage of the numerous hotels that are located closely to the beach. Tourists used to a luxurious lifestyle will be pleased to find high standards hotels, with a wide variety of facilities, children playgrounds, sport fields, clubs and terraces.

One of the resort’s points of attraction is taking a ride with the “suspended gondola” where you can get the chance to admire a panoramic view of the resort, the Black Sea and the Siutghiol Lake over a 2000 meters trip.

Aqua Magic

If you want to take a break from the sea and the sand, but still want to enjoy the sun, you can visit the “Aqua Magic” aquatic park. The place can host about 2500 people who come here to enjoy the pools, the slides and even the bars, restaurants and fast-foods inside the park.

The Mamaia night life will not disappoint you either. You will have plenty of trendy bars and clubs to go to around here that will please even the most pretentious visitors.Mamaia Beach by Night

If you come here with your family, a good place to visit in the evenings is the “Holiday Village”, where you can find an amusement park, a bowling alley, traditional food and little souvenir shops.

Extreme sports

If you have more of an unconventional style, Mamaia is not a place where you will complain of boredom. You will get the chance of practicing extreme sports, like parachuting, diving, windsurfing or jet skiing.

Therefore, no matter the type of person you are, there is no doubt that the Romanian seaside has something to offer for everyone. So: free spirit or luxury treat? The choice is yours.
