The “B.P.Hasdeu“ Memorial Museum
The passing of time and the natural disasters did not miss the castle, and in 1977, the powerful earthquake that hit the whole country brought severe damage to the castle once again. So once again the castle enters a long period of restoration and consolidation. With a great deal of help and support of the states authorities, the castle is reopened for visiting in 1995.
The visitors can admire the furniture, the personal objects of the Hasdeu family, pictures and original documents, manuscripts, fist editions of the scholar’s books, collections of magazines managed by him or with which he collaborated, paintings signed by Nicolae Grigorescu, Save Hentia, G.D. Mitrea, Diogene Maillart.
The story is impressing indeed. Many say that Iulia’s soul never found rest and that still haunts the castle. This would be a very interesting place to visit, especially for those who are interested in spiritualism, but not only. More stories you can find for yourself at the place. Maybe it seems like a movie you have already seen, maybe the media made you see this facts as science fiction, but we can never know for sure if these things are real or not, do we? It’s for us to decide, is for us to choose what we want to believe and what we need to believe. Either way, the castle is wonderful, the story is intriguing. You will see for yourself that it will leave you a strange feeling from the moment you see it, and even before knowing much about it. So strange that you cannot describe it even after you have seen it, I one cannot…
