The Cave From Romanesti – The Cave That Rocks

The Cave from Romanesti The cave's entrance is huge, measures about 9,5 meters wide and 2 meters high which means that the first 70 meters of the cave are somehow lit by the outside light.

Once you go deeper, you will need a flashlight. The main gallery is enormous and is home for dozens of bats thus people have named it "The Bat Room". Although there are not so many bats, due to the acoustics it seems that there are thousands of them.

The temperature inside is always between 6 and 8 degrees Celsius (42.8 to 46.4 degrees Fahrenheit) so it's wise to pack a warm blouse with you.

Rock concerts:

In 1984 the Speotimis Association organized a symphonic concert here. It was the first in a long series of concerts. Many people were impressed by the sound and since then it has become a tradition to hold a symphonic concert or rock concert every autumn.

On the natural stage people across Romania and other nearby countries have gathered to feel the music sang by Nightlosers, Cargo (both from Romania), Zdob si Zdub (Moldova), Kathleen Evans, St. Rafailo Banatski (Serbia).

If you're passionate about caves and mountain sceneries, the Cave from Romanesti is one of the best places to visit in the Poiana Rusca Mountains.
