The Dawn of Environmental Awareness in Romania ( published on Apr 14, 2008.)

One hour “sacrificed” to show we care. This is the concept behind Earth Hour. On March 29th, people all over the world were urged to turn off their lights and appliances for 1 hour. The purpose of this en masse action was to make citizens conscious that each person can contribute to the preservation of the planet. It all started in Australia, as people are getting more and more preoccupied with environmental issues, which hosted the 2nd edition of the event that has now become a global project.
