The mountain tourism in Romania
Romania’s mountains offer a very rich variety of mountain sports. Medium heights are approximately 1 000 m and there are also some unusual climbs for tourists at Babele, Sfinxul of Bucegi and Pietrele Doamnei in Rarau. Here, the mountains have been shaped by volcanic activity and guarantee a unique setting.
The benefits of spending a vacation in the Carpathians are extremely varied and adaptive to the wide range of activities that can be enjoyed here. The different styles of accommodation have varying degrees of comfort and the restaurants cater for all tastes at reasonable prices. You can choose to spend a luxury holiday in 4 or 5 Star hotels or you can choose a more rural style vacation in the guest houses or peasant’s homes, all of whom will assure you of a vacation you will never forget.
THE HOME OF SKIING
The lovers of winter sports, especially the ones that love to ski, have no end of choices in the Carpathians. The big resorts offer different lengths of slope and degrees of difficulty. They are further enhanced by 24 hour lighting, artificial snow and cable transport, all designed to make for a perfect vacation. The most popular resorts are: Poiana Brasov, Predeal, Busteni, Sinaia and Azuga.

ON MOUNTAIN PATHS
The many marked touring paths offer tourists the possibility of some diversions in to some hidden places. Here, you can be sure that you can discover the natural beauty of the mountains. But, for this you will need training and some experience of orienteering.
