Periam “Rock la Mures” Fest
One of the best music festivals in Romania finds its place in the country’s western extremity, somewhere in the middle of nowhere, near the borderline. Two stages, good music, interesting people, camping sites, the river and field as far as your eyes can see…
Each town has a legend; each place has a story to tell. This is the legend that Periam holds: once upon a time, there was a Hungarian nobleman named Tapary, who had his lands on the shore of the river Mures, near the actual Periam Port. This nobleman owned these lands in the early 20th century. The legend says he was very fond of gambling games, especially playing cards. Playing cards was for him like opium, thus he didn’t stop playing the game when he should have. Under this circumstances he came to loose his land, his house and even his wife. He was doomed not to find his peace. The legend says that he has become one of the undead and he walks on the dyke near the river from the canton to the Pumping Station. They say he walks on the dyke around 3 am, with two fingers of the right hand in flame (the hand which he played with when he lost his wife).
Periam is a beautiful small village in western Romania, and each summer hosts a Rock festival which gathers people from all over the country and the neighbour countries.
